Dr Kate Stephenson is a freelance heritage consultant and social historian based in Edinburgh. Coming from a background in academia, she has worked in the museum sector for the last eight years. She is also a published author and sometime tour guide.

Her historical specialisms are in clothing and sex history and these overlap in the history of condoms, a subject on which she has spoken extensively.

In her spare time, she is a keen reenactor and runs an Edinburgh Fringe venue, The Speakeasy.
